Blockchain technology is poised to have transformative effects on virtually every sector, including logistics, traditional banking and finance, and software development, and has garnered significant media attention as a result. However, blockchain is highly technical and difficult to understand — if it is to make good on its promise of dramatically improving industry efficiencies, it is necessary for the broader public to understand it, embrace it, and make it “mainstream”.

In an effort to make blockchain digestible to the broader public, Lisk, the application platform which will allow users to code in JavaScript to build blockchain applications, has launched the Lisk Academy — a comprehensive educational platform on blockchain technology. The whole Academy is free and open to everyone with no premium option that you have to pay for.

Featuring dedicated, simplified guides on blockchain development and use-cases, how-to video tutorials, and an array of additional information, the Lisk Academy aims to make blockchain accessible to everyone, from the technological novice or aspiring developer to longtime veterans and innovators of the high-tech scene. In making blockchain education interactive and enjoyable, removing obstacles to its integration into the broader economy, and by introducing its benefits and potential use-cases to the world at large — the Lisk Academy will facilitate the faster adoption of blockchain by the general public.

It is hoped that unlike the internet, blockchain will not take several decades to become “mainstream”, with communities such as Lisk going above and beyond to strengthen global understanding of blockchain technology’s potential and catering to the educational needs of the public.

Should you be interested in learning more about the Lisk Academy, and how Lisk is working to overcome obstacles to blockchain’s wide scale adoption through public outreach and educational engagement, I would be happy to arrange an interview with, or written commentary from, Jacob Kowalewski, who oversees the implementation and work of the Lisk Academy. Please do not hesitate to contact me should this be the case

About Lisk

Lisk is a blockchain application platform whose mission is to bring blockchain technology to the mainstream through an SDK (Sidechain Development Kit) written in JavaScript, the most commonly used programming language in the world. By utilizing sidechain technology, Lisk’s SDK enables developers to build powerful and scalable blockchain applications, including custom tokens. With special focus on usability and accessibility, Lisk aims to become the go-to platform for blockchain application development. Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, Lisk raised over 14,000 Bitcoins during its ICO in March 2016.
