Raw Halo (www.rawhalo.com) is Derbyshire based start-up brand with 13 varieties of raw, organic, refined sugar free chocolate.  The business returned to Crowdcube for the second time and has successfully overfunded (by 182%) their target of £110k to raise investment of over £200,000 from 390 investors for their expansion into national supermarkets, continued marketing investment, and new product development.

Operating within the UK’s fastest growing supermarket categories, including “Free-From” (worth over £531 million in 2016) and Organic (sales set to reach £2.2 billion in 2017), Raw Halo is on a mission to become the world’s most-loved luxury raw chocolate brand. Raw Halo have had previous crowdfundng success – reaching 176% overfunding on Crowdcube in 2016, raising £150k of investment.

Meg Haggar (28) launched Raw Halo in 2015 after deciding to move from a successful career in corporate HR (GSK, London Business School, Boots) into the world of entrepreneurship. After adopting a refined sugar free diet back in 2012, Meg was inspired by her passion for eating well, and combined with her love of chocolate, the idea for Raw Halo was born: luxurious chocolate with even fewer natural sweeteners and additives than other leading raw chocolate brands. Instead, Raw Halo combines superfoods with rich Peruvian cacao to create six ‘Mylk’ and six Dark healthy twists on your favourite chocolate combinations; think satiating Dark Chocolate + Mint, moreish Mylk + Crispies (made from buckwheat) and decadent Dark + Sweet Orange (RRP £2.79 per 35g bar). For more adventurous tastes, there’s zingy Dark + Lemon and Pink Himalayan Salt, superfood enriched Mylk + Goji Berries and Vanilla and the sultry Dark + Ginger and Pecan. With such a diverse range, there’s quite literally something for everyone.

Since launching, Raw Halo has grown to incorporate Meg’s partner Jonathan Chapman (Jonathan previously worked in e-commerce, managing fast-growth online businesses for fashion brands John Smedley, and Sunuva), who brings a wealth of complementary experience. 2017 has seen big expansion for the small team, with production and warehousing outsourced in preparation for listings with a major retailer, the launch of three new 70g bars, nine new celebration sets and many more exciting stockists and collaborations soon to be announced.
